Graphic Design Portfolio

My name is Kaitlynn, but most people call me Kate! I am a creative, passionate marketing and design professional with a background in fine art. I specialize in strengthening branding and identity by creating eye-catching designs targeted at your ideal customer. I also have a strong experience in digital marketing, which allows me to look at marketing and design from a holistic perspective and cultivate graphics that flow seamlessly with a marketing strategy.

I have been drawing and painting since I can remember and was introduced to design in high school through photography class. I fell in love and have been learning and creating ever since. Since then, I have gained skills in copywriting, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, and email marketing.

I currently work at MK Marketing as a Graphic Design and Marketing Specialist. I work with clients on various design projects such as logos, branding, advertisements, and print design.

No-Da soda

This personal project aimed to develop a sparkling water company and branding. To create this project, I did research on other sparkling water brands. I created a sleeker, minimalistic design for this mockup that stands out from existing brands.

Software Used: Adobe Photoshop.

Laptop Advertisement

This advertisement was designed to promote the company's custom-configured laptop offerings. The client wanted the design to use brand colors while being informative about the benefits of their service. To accomplish this goal, I selected and edited images to fit the brand's color scheme and made mockups of the computer models they offer with the software and company website on them. The client provided a longer copy but wanted it condensed for this purpose. I carefully re-wrote the copy while retaining the original theme and message but condensed it to grab the viewers' attention and push them towards action.

Poetry book cover

This project was commissioned by a poetry author for her second book. She wanted a cover that tied into the book's content and reflected her writing. To accomplish this, we had many meetings where we discussed the content and theme of the book as well as the overarching themes of her work. I put together a mood board for us to further cultivate the idea she was going for. Once we had a clear direction, I sourced the images to create and customize the book cover.

Virtual Retreat Graphics

This project aimed to create graphics and a marketing package for the first Virtual Winter Retreat. The client wanted the main design to be eye-catching to attract attendees while being informative on the session dates and times. The main challenge with this project was that it was the first virtual winter retreat the company had hosted. I was tasked with organizing and marketing this event while maintaining attendance numbers similar to previous in-person events. Using targeted posts through the company's social media channels, tailored graphics, and email marketing, this event was a great success. Attendance numbers surpassed in-person events, and customer feedback was positive. Due to the event's success, the company decided to switch to virtual events for future years.

Gallery photoshoot

These images are part of a photography project for the Martin Artisans guild. The association wanted close-up pictures of the art and handmade goods in their new gallery space for social media. This project helped build interest in the gallery and increase attendance numbers.

Software Used:  Adobe Photoshop.

T-Shirt iLLUSTRATIOn

This project was a personal project to illustrate and create a T-shirt graphic mockup. I took the reference image, illustrated it in the Procreate app, and finished it in Adobe Illustrator. This project aimed to challenge me to get creative while polishing my illustration skills.

New Release Content

This design project aimed to highlight the top new features in the software's latest release. I created a color scheme that fits within brand guidelines and then sourced and designed images to describe the features succinctly. The client wanted to drive traffic regarding this new release to the sales team. To achieve this, I chose to overview the new features and lead right into a call for action for the customer.
